Reddish black color with beige, creamy and lacy head. Aroma is well balanced: aromatic hoppy, sweety toffy ’n’ roasty malty. Flavor is quite dull and watery. A bit sour and sweety malty flavor is quite burned with ashy finish. Medium-bodied and smooth palate is a bit watery though.

500ml bottle. Red-black color. Taste is more Black Ale than a Stout, albeit a thin line. I really like this one. Medium bodied, quite smooth and mellow. Lots of toffee-caramel flavor. Rich, but completely relaxed on the palate. Some mild roast in the finish. Excellent beer, the Euro Rbers are spoiled.

Bottle conditional ale bought at Alko in Hætta, Finland. Courtesy of Elisabeth. Nice bottle design and label. Dark-brown body. Low off-white head. Light roasted coffee malt in aroma. Woody and roasted taste of caramel malts Glimpses of yeasts. Bittersweet end. Dry in the mouth. Does not carry a lot of weight, but fair enough (29.04.2009).

Bottle from Millets Farm Shop, Abingdon, May 2008. Dark red colour. Rather ashy smoky malt aroma. Milky chocolate comes through in the flavour. Slightly too fizzy. Perhaps more like a porter than a stout. Decent but didn’t quite hit the spot.

I liked this quite a bit. Loads of malt and no hop presence. Roasted malt is in there, as well as dirt and peat, with just a little smoke. A little fruit, and a hint of sweetness.

Sampled during Cellar’s final beer tasting in St Paul, MN. Pours a clear dark brown brew with a creamy beige head that slowly dissipates to a thin ring. Aroma of roasted dark malt, some prunes, a hint of yeast and some brown sugar. Taste is medium bodied, flavors of roasted dark malt, prunes, some coffee and chocolate. Finish is semi-dry with a toasted dark malt and chocolate aftertaste.

(Draught) Pours a black body with a small creamy beige head. Aroma of licorice, roasted malt, cocoa, and dried dark fruits (raisins, black cherry). Flavor of roasted malt, licorice, caramel, and cocoa.
