I really like this one. Medium bodied, quite smooth and mellow. Lots of toffee-caramel flavor. Rich, but completely relaxed on the palate. Some mild roast in the finish. Excellent beer, the Euro Rbers are spoiled. liinis (721), Helsinki, Finland

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 12, 2008 Medium statured light brown head, retention is fair with nice scattered lacing. Dark brown brew with a ruby glow when held up to the light, pretty. Nose is faint, black patent, light vinous and chocolatey aromas, faint roast, lightly dusty. Body is medium, fairly carbonated, lightly chalky. Dry maltiness, roast, coffee, cocoay notes, bittersweet chocolate, light coffeeness and a tad burnt. Dry, roasty finish. Better than expected. 500 ml. Bottle procured @statelineliquors. wunderbier (1267), Tampere, Finland
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 24, 2008 Charred brown, scantily topped by an eggshell crema. Sturdy roast and toffee malts take the forefront against oloroso sherry, fennel and grassy hops. Succulent sweets brace against coffee bitterness, fading into a lengthy roast and mineral finish. A creamy texture melds well with the delicate carbonation.
Rich and roasty in a svelte package.

Good example of English sublety, nothing too bold just the balance of a little roast, a little Shwartzbier black, a bit above mouthfeel, a bit of licorice as in a porter. Pours black, nothing harsh, delightful with a meal.
