| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 25, 2006 Nice amber color, large bubbly off white head that had a nice hang time then faded slowly to leave a decent lace behind.Malty hoppy aroma with a nice citrusy side, some sweetness and maybe a bit of some pine buried in there as well but kinda on the faint side.Very highly carbonated, almost to the point of giving an acidic feel on the pallate. The flavor starts off with a mdeicinal side but after a few more sips it seems to go away.It changes to lightly malty and medium strong pine and citrus flavor with a decent bitterness coming on in the middle and fading at the very end of the tasting. The brew is not bad at all starts off rough and finishes up a little better. It’s worth a try but not something i’d like to return to more then once. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Aug 24, 2006 This bottled brew from a bottle shop marked best before 5/28/06 poured a small sized head of frothy medium sized white colored bubbles that was mostly lasting and left behind a transparent typically carbonated orange colored body. The aroma was musty and dirty socks. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The weak flavor contained notes of mild malt hop and slight bitter. It was a bit off of the mark . Not one that I would buy again as I have had much better. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 17, 2006 Bottle from Super Saver. Dark straw pour with 1-finger off-white head. Aroma of slight hopcitrus and tannins. Not much in the aroma. The taste was very piney hoppy, very dry, with an amazing lack of sweetness, even for this style. Light palate that lacked complexity or balance. As it warmed, it acquired some citrusy and tropical fruity notes, but it always remained a mouth puckering piney hoppy beverage that never showed me any of its supposed Maris Otter malt. I call this one a big disappointment, never to pass my lips again. nick76 (2684), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Aug 4, 2006 The aroma has wonderful floral hops with malt and citrus. The appearance is gold with an amber hue. The head is average. The flavor has wonderful lightly toasted malt with a quite noticeable bitterness. The palate is soft with carbonation. There is a hint of lemon in the aftertaste as well as some astringentness. Overall though it’s a decent beer. dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

Aroma of floral hops and faint grassy/herbal character. Flavor is mildly hoppy, with a touch of grainy malt sweetness. Medium body low carbonation. BBB63 (4267), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 29, 2006 Bottle and served in a no-nic pint glass: Pours a clean golden hue topped by a nice sized frothy white head and fair lace. The aroma has one serious bubblegum ester with some grassy hop, biscuity malt, and flowery vapors. The taste is moderately bitter with a note again of bubblegum sweetness. Cool on the nose, not so much on the palate. Grassy and herbal character throughout the tasting. The mouth feel is lively and crisp, a tad thin and watery as well. Disappointing bitter beer for sure, not impressed at any point with this pint. beerbill (1975), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 17, 2006 11.2 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange/light brown with a generous bubly head that lasted through most of the glass. Pleasant but light floral aroma. There was also some sweetness to the aroma, however, when you taste the beer there is no sweet flavor at all, which I found interesting. Flavor was mostly hops with a distinct bitter finish. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 29, 2006 From a 500ml. narrow neck brown bottle with a blurb about the bitter on the back label along with coded lot/package number.
Made a good appearance, poured a hazy golden hued orange with a foamy white head that settled into a thin lacing, minimal amount of sticking, moderate carbonation overall.
Had a floral and lemon grassy nose with a little earthy, grainy biscuitiness in the background.
A crisp, smooth light bodied mouth feel, good drinkability.
Floral and lemon grassy hop taste, a little orange zestiness as well, a dry grainy maltiness, a faint hint of butteriness and a dry lemon grassy, floral and subtle sugary malty finish.
A really nice English Bitter, one of the better beers from Ridgeway, well worth trying.
