The nose is dry and hoppy, with a bitter sweet caramel aroma. The taste has a dry, hop bitterness at the beginning, which is followed by a slightly spicy, “pear drop” boiled sweet, liquorice flavour. The finish is dry. (Bottle - purchased from Tesco as part of a four pack of small British brewer’s beers, a 275 ml. bottle). hammenlind (738), Sundbyberg, Sweden

Sweet malty aroma, with just a bit of bottle funkiness, some mineral water, very drinkable, but somewhat chalky and harsh towards the finish. iratherbe (255), Marlton, New Jersey, USA

A robust brown to gold in color, slight sustained head, smooth with a somewhat fruity & malt aroma with a scent of yeast on the nose. Balanced well, easy & drinkable. Thin in content & body. Nothing to knock your socks off, but it ain’t supposed to. A bit of a wee brew. Ungstrup (15220), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 29, 2006 A hazy orange beer with a huge off-white head. The aroma is sweet and very fruity with notes of oranges and peaches, but also some hints of metal - and the flavor is pretty much like the aroma, but the body is somewhat thin, no wonder at 4% ABV. argo0 (6897), Washington DC, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 23, 2006 A very tasty ale. It pours an orange body with brown highlights, replete with steady beading and a dense, lofty off-white head that laces in large clumps. (Belgian clumping?) The nose is toffee with light fruits (apple, orange, pear) and a floral/herbal hopping. Very smooth. Nice balance of soft caramel-toffee malts, fruits, and a mild hop bitterness. It finishes on a sweet fruity note with a hoppy bitterness around the edges. Excellent session material here.
