Commercial Description:
If Maris Otter malt is the body of our beer then hops are its spirit. Each year we choose our hops not just by farm but by individual garden and time of harvest. One older variety, Challenger, and one new,Boadicea, used as unprocessed whole leaf hops. Extravagant, perhaps, but delicious.

Clear pale amber color with a medium frothy white head that fully diminishes. Aroma of sweet malt with some hints of bitterness. Sweet caramel flavor with some light bitterness in the end.

A medium, dark, amber brown beer with a weak white head. The nose is dry and hoppy, with a bitter sweet caramel aroma. The taste has a dry, hop bitterness at the beginning, which is followed by a slightly spicy, “pear drop” boiled sweet, liquorice flavour. The finish is dry. (Bottle - purchased from Tesco as part of a four pack of small British brewer’s beers, a 275 ml. bottle).

Pale amber coloured, thick white diminishing head. Acidic, refreshing somewhat hoppy aroma. Sweet, grassy flavour with notes of butter and sugar. Somewhat flat. A little grapefruit is present. Medium bitterness.

A very clear and light yellow gold color, with a small bubbly head. Sweet malty aroma, with just a bit of bottle funkiness, some mineral water, very drinkable, but somewhat chalky and harsh towards the finish.

Cask pour Max’s, Baltimore, MD. A robust brown to gold in color, slight sustained head, smooth with a somewhat fruity & malt aroma with a scent of yeast on the nose. Balanced well, easy & drinkable. Thin in content & body. Nothing to knock your socks off, but it ain’t supposed to. A bit of a wee brew.

A hazy orange beer with a huge off-white head. The aroma is sweet and very fruity with notes of oranges and peaches, but also some hints of metal - and the flavor is pretty much like the aroma, but the body is somewhat thin, no wonder at 4% ABV.

(500ml bottle, best by 5-28-06) Crystal clear apple juice body with medium white head. Aroma is medium sweet, floral, some orange, caramel, light earthy. Taste is faily mild -- medium sweet, cereal, some earthy, light orange. Watery light body, guzzleable.

A very tasty ale. It pours an orange body with brown highlights, replete with steady beading and a dense, lofty off-white head that laces in large clumps. (Belgian clumping?) The nose is toffee with light fruits (apple, orange, pear) and a floral/herbal hopping. Very smooth. Nice balance of soft caramel-toffee malts, fruits, and a mild hop bitterness. It finishes on a sweet fruity note with a hoppy bitterness around the edges. Excellent session material here.
