This was a gift from a friend and I did enjoy drinking it and feeling the effects of it’s 10.5%. I do love good barley wines, but I would not buy this one. Will drink it again if given to me though! mabel (2612), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Boozy malt aroma has a slice of citrus. Clear, medium orange body with a quick off-white head. Bitter doughy malt flavour has a little spice. Rough medium body. Nose is a bit harsh, with metallic bananas and some fusel alcohol. Rather sweet in flavor, with lots of banana. Quite bitter, a bit salty. Not criminally bad, perhaps, but hardly very good. greydog (2), New Jersey, USA does not count | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Warm maple brown color w/ smooth pour and light, thin creamy head. both years pour a nice caramel brown with a white head that only last a few seconds. the 06 is just a tad bit darker. aroma is very sweet on both years with the 06 having less fresh fruit and more dark fruit aroma very sweet caramel malt in both years and just a touch of brown sugar in th e06. the flaovur were pretty identical both being sickly sweet with a very bitter aftertaste and finish. the palate is sticky. i did both years this way because they were so close to each other they came out to be the same score.
