Commercial Description:
"It turned out to be a case of mistaken identity, of course - wrong place at the wrong time...but Claus was soon back on the street with the polite apologies of the authorities - no questions asked. All's well that ends well, surely, but still, the reporters wanted to know...it takes its toll, doesnt't it? "Indeed" sighed Claus, "my elf is going crazy, and I fear I shall soon go crazy as well" And with that he hoisted a great flagon of his favorite barleywine-style ale, silently contemplating the future and straining to remember why he got into this particular line of work in the first place.

Bottle at Toms Ultimate Glasgow Tasting : Poured a amber color with light bubbles. The aroma was bubble gum, spices, and hops. The taste was very hoppy and tangy.

Sampled from a 16 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark golden color with a large white head. The aroma was rather pleasant mix of sweet caramel and ripe fruits. The flavor was sweet and fruity with elements of caramel and molasses. The finish was very long, sweet and fruity.

Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry and Blankboy, Harry’s bottle. Our third Elf of the night and easily the best. Dark yellow, orange hints, small white head. Booze, syrup, fruit aroma. Taste is dent - booze and sweetness, but a better mix/balance than the others. Not great, bur drinkable and decent.

Bottle (500ml) shared with HogTownHarry & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a spare diminishing white head. Aroma’s sweet and sugary along with alcohol, sweet malt, fruit and maybe a hint of hops. Flavour’s also sugary sweet along with fruit, hops and alcohol -- it’s quite pleasant tasting actually. Alcohol’s fairly well hidden for 10.5 % Medium bodied. Not bad, one of the better Ridgeway Elf beers for sure.

Pours a nice amber with an aroma of concert pot smoke. Really. Flavor is salami and port wine. Thin mouthfeel. Eh, I’ve had worse.

Bottle (500ml). Shared with blankboy and tupalev, my bottle. Light clear amber pour, decent frothy-creamy off-white head. Aroma - this is pretty decent - very sweet, very boozy, but I get candied fruit and even some floral hops. The taste is apricot, candy sugar, strong alcohol, and lingering bitterness. Light, slick body, mostly alcohol palate character, but enough candy fruit to make it seasonal. Strong and sweet, but not a burner.

Bottle from BevMo. Medium amber color upon pouring, no head. Sweet syrupy aroma. Somewhat fruity. A hint of red licorice and bubblegum. Decent fruity flavor with a bit of hoppiness. Alcohol is very noticeable.
