Commercial Description:
"It turned out to be a case of mistaken identity, of course - wrong place at the wrong time...but Claus was soon back on the street with the polite apologies of the authorities - no questions asked. All's well that ends well, surely, but still, the reporters wanted to know...it takes its toll, doesnt't it? "Indeed" sighed Claus, "my elf is going crazy, and I fear I shall soon go crazy as well" And with that he hoisted a great flagon of his favorite barleywine-style ale, silently contemplating the future and straining to remember why he got into this particular line of work in the first place.

Pours a hazy orange amber with small white head. Vanilla and oak in the nose. Flavor is raisin, rum soaked fruits, some alcohol, but not hot. Pleasant warming with a vanilla finish. Better than average, but not stellar. Still nice as a christmas novelty.

I was not a fan. It is hard to drink and distracts you from your evening. It was not exactly bad, but it was not a pleasant beer. Best shared with friends and sipped from a narrow glass that will hide the fumes/smell. Raisins do come in the bouquet and maybe prunes, too.

Shared with Butters. Bottle. Sweet ripe fruit, raisin, on the nose. Pale amber color with white head. Strong ale. Flavors of sweet orange. Its tasty for what it is, but it is no barleywine.

Pours a dark goldwith a small orangish head. Aroma of over ripe oranges and sweet maltiness. Sweet malt taste almost cloying treacle character. Has a honey flavor almost like strong mead. Alcohol warmth after the swallow. Well balanced, ver good.

Poured from a 500ml bottle and served in a snifter. This beer poured a clear copper hue with a thick head of creamy beige foam that resulted from an aggressive pour. Great retention and lacing. The aroma consisted of oranges, apricot, sugary toffee, and a bit of perfumey alcohol. The flavor included sticky sweet caramel, biting dull alcohol, and a bit of astringent orange. A lingering finish of metallic orange makes this one increasingly hard to choke down. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied and had light carbonation. Definately not one of the better examples of the style.

Crushed with Jakebra. Barley wine? Pathetic. They werent kidding. This brew is criminally bad. As thin as a pale lager. Some fruit, but mostly poop and nast hops. Drinkable but a terrible attempt at a barley wine.

500 ml bottle. Finland. Aroma caramel toffee. Very nice for a such a high ABV beer. The flavour is a nice mixture of toffee/caramel and warming alcohol. Nice!

Pours an amber-orange color and develops a pretty nice off-white head. The aroma is very fruity, as well as herbal and floral, with some alcoholic caramel notes. Wow, this is easy drinking for a 10.5% beer, tastes light, far lighter than expected but still pretty good, fruity, very faint dark fruit, sweet caramel and a bit of a spicy alcoholic tang. It wasn’t exactly what I expected but I enjoyed the bottle I had.
