Commercial Description:
"It turned out to be a case of mistaken identity, of course - wrong place at the wrong time...but Claus was soon back on the street with the polite apologies of the authorities - no questions asked. All's well that ends well, surely, but still, the reporters wanted to know...it takes its toll, doesnt't it? "Indeed" sighed Claus, "my elf is going crazy, and I fear I shall soon go crazy as well" And with that he hoisted a great flagon of his favorite barleywine-style ale, silently contemplating the future and straining to remember why he got into this particular line of work in the first place.

Bottle (50 cl) at Bishops Arms, Avenyn, Göteborg, Sweden. Clear amber, medium off-white head. Caramelly, sugary, with notes of marzipan and herbal hops. Medium bodied and smooth. A bit sweet, moderate bitterness.

Pours a light amber color with a small white head, thin but persistent lacing. Fruity nose. Fruity taste as well with notes of grape, peach, plum, and banana. Alcohol notes are noticeable but subtle. Brandy-like quality to the taste. Sweet finish.

500 ml bottle. Amber color, off-white head. Strong aroma with fruit and alcohol, some syrupy malts. Full bitter-sweet flavor with molassis and a warming alcohol finish. Full body, medium carbonation. Not spectacular for barley wine.

Bottle from the WineKing shared with msiano. Pours a clear sunburnt orange with a tiny white head. Aroma is rather sweet some malts alcohol caramel sugarwater toffee and grass. Flavor of toffee vegtables especially corn and a touch of bread. Thin watery body with strong carbonation. I agree with one thing this beer is criminally bad.

On tap at Deep Ellum, the body is a murky, muddy copper color and the thin creamy head dissipates very quickly. The taste is fully of candied sugar and dry bread. Very low carbonation created a stale tacky mouthfeel. I was underwhelmed.

500ml bottle. Peach colored, low white head, diminishes fast. Yeasty grape aroma, pretty light. Palate is thick but no carbonate. For me, this taste likes vodka mixed with standard lager.

Color is a clear dark gold with light carbonation and a thin head. All I get for an aroma is a sweet alcohol scent. Taste is rich and sweet. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a creamy feel. Finish is sweet with some corn and sugar coming out. After taste had some bitterness to it and a big alcohol feel. Its an ok strong ale but the flavor is weak for a Barley Wine. This is a disappointment last year I had Very Bad Elf and Insanely Bad Elf, both I found to be good brews.

Pourd a deep amber, was lighter than your average barleywine and the alcohol was well camouflaged. This one was different.
