May 24, 2008 Pour is hazed orangey amber with a thin off white head...smell is lightly sweet and toasty with some caramel notes....also sour and wet cardboardy...taste is sweet and bland...really nothing at all except a cardboard aftertaste....

May 13, 2008 This is the most boring and bland barleywine I have ever wrapped my lips around. Light bodied with ample carbonation, there is no way this is 10.5, possibly 6.5 if they are lucky. This is way too tame, and not hot at all on the top of the palate.

May 9, 2008 Bottle. [Courtesy of yespr, thanks buddy] Average fizzy white head that mostly diminished. Clear golden colour. Fair display of lacework. Aroma of caramel, grain, ash, floral, roasted malt, herbal and hoppy notes. Medium to full bodied with an average carbonation and light dry and alcoholic texture. Moderated sweet and light bitter flavour. Light dry and bitter hoppy ash finish.

May 7, 2008 Very nicely balanced ... wow! crazy well hidden alcohol ... a wad of cookie dough ... pleasing aroma, makes me want to trounce a maitre de ... dark maple syrup smell .. one of those beers that makes you wonder if the abv is truly what they say .. sweet plum, sugar flavours .. not a bad effort!

Apr 5, 2008 Decent sized bright white head of fine bubbles. Looking at this as it was being poured I do not have high hopes for this "barley wine". Very thin body. Sweet candy aroma with some sweet tarts, dusty attic, and any semblence of sweet cherry, which appears upon swirling, disappears almost immediately. Color is a clear golden orange. Sweet and thin with a dry palate. Alcohol does not show up until late. Sweet malts and more candy. Pretty weak flavor. Finishes clean and dry with a lingering warming. Again another dissapointment from this brewer. very easy drinking though.
