Smells like citrus cleaning fluid. Pale orange color. Orangy malt body with metallic and chemical qualities. Harsh bitter - stale hops? Grass, scratchy texture. Thin and weak.

Pale honey orange color, small layer of a head. Lively carbonation. Orange scented washing powder nose. Short bitter hoppy kick, watery finish. Nah, not good.

Cask @ the Pigs Ear Festival, London , 2003.
Hazy pale gold colour. Sulphurous aroma, not perfect but ok (is your first impression anyway). Then you know…. underneath the introductory pleasantries….arriving in the middle….. Battery Acid!!! Doooooohhhh. Not a great way to get your first beer for the brewery started.

Gravity fresh @ Pig's Ear Festival, East London. Ridgeway was set up this year by the ex-head brewer of Brakspear. He calls his company The Beer Counter, and contract brews for other people by using spare capacity at various breweries. His own beers he releases under the Ridgeway name. This beer was originally to have been Pivovorski Pivo, but it was changed to Desiatka. It's a pale gold colour. Acceptable aroma: mild malt with a touch of vanilla. There is some sulphur in the flavour, giving a strange biscuit and cheese farts quality to the whole thing. Thinnish body with a hard feel. Fading finish. Not great.
