| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 11, 2009 Nice hazy copper coloured body with a strong amber tint, signs of orange, slight sediment, a good tan head that leaves a pleasant lace and good carbonation - this is what you’d want a bitter to look like, simply beautiful. Aroma of perfume, english hops, malt, curacao and perhaps a touch of a round of cheddar. Medium-bodied; Assertive malt up front fading to a mild cardboard malt, touched with subtle english (low a.a.) hops and ending with a pretty bland caramel and toffee sweetness. Aftertaste shows a bit more than the malt, but not much hops nor bitterness. Overall, not a horrible beer - but after the promise of the appearance, this one is a letdown. Still, not horrible for $4.29 (sale) for a pint from England, you’d never be able to find it anywhere in Britain for 2/3 quid. I sampled this 500 mL bottle purchased from Half Time in Poughkeepsie, New York on 27-November-2009, sampled at home in Washington on 11-December-2009. radagast83 (1315), Fairfax, Virginia, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 13, 2009 Bottle conditioned, 500ml from Bellingers Garage, Grove. Gold with White head, above moderate carbonation. Quite tinny and sharp initially with a strange, floral hop note. Mid body with some caramel notes giving a light sweetness. Ends on a drying hop, but still a rose petal hop note. A little odd. JoeMcPhee (5030), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
