Commercial Description:
"Is it just my imagination," queried old Santa, surveying the scene, "or is my Elf only getting worse and worse every year? What's next? Seriously Bad Elf, I'll wager. Mark my words."

This Very Bad Elf is one fine ale - rich, hardy, and flavorful, brewed to an original 1795 Thames Valley recipe, with a very special pale amber malt that is rarely used nowadays, and balanced by a modest addition of English Fuggle aroma hops. 'Ere's to your elf!

The beer evacuates the 500ml brown bottle a clear amber color with a demonstrative creamy off white head, as it erodes the lacing provides a fine sheet to obfuscate the glass. Nose has a rich malt aroma, sweet, hints of spices, nice hop tone, and citrus like in crispness. Front has a decent malt presence, slight bite at the back, moderate in feel at the top. Finish is sternly acidic, the hops perfect, sweetness ligers long with the dry aftertaste, also a bit of a tummy warmer at 7.50 percent alcohol, quite drinkable and I’ve enjoyed all the beers from this series.

Tap at the Blind Tiger. Poured a copper color with a thin head. The nose was a bit off, definitely different. The flavor was hoppy and slightly sweet, with a bitter finish.

Bottle, 7.5%. Acidic aroma, a little malt. Hazy amber colour. OK sourness in the flavour, intended? Quite malty with good alcohol to balance.

Clear golden with medium white head. Sourish aroma with barnyard and woody notes notes. Sourish flavor with barnyard, hay and woody notes. Ends sour. An infection that works out pretty good.

Bright amber in color with a medium head. Carmel in the smell speaks to the malt that was used. Body is thin. Hasa sort of chemical taste probably from the type of hops that were used. Some caramel notes with alcohol warmth at the back of the throat.
