BoBoChamp (737), Gent, Belgium Jul 27, 2008 33cl, from Geers Oostakker, not complex brew, cloudy, small head, nice brew MiP (6029), Flensburg, Germany Jul 25, 2008 Bottle, 9%. Hazy orange colour. Small stable white head. The flavour starts off metallic, there is some vinous sourness, a bit like white wine. Quite yeasty as well. Has some alcohol which gives it an OK mouthfeel, but also a little bitter aftertaste. caesar (2597), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands Jun 20, 2008 Bottled. Clear amber color, short dying head, just some lace. Aroma of citrus, hint of caramel, slight butter and alcohol, acidic. Sweet and citrussy taste, alcoholic, sugar, metal, some oranges. Strange and unbalanced brew. Papsoe (10575), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 18, 2008 (Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of yespr/Ungstrup. Pours a very hazy amber golden with a dense, off-white head that leaves some laces. Sweet aroma of fruit but also some diacetyl. Quite full-bodied with a solid malt base and plenty of fruit and an unpleasant, chemical tang. Subdued bitterness. Yet another flawed and unpleasant brew from a once very capable brewery. 120108 Grovlam (3204), Copenhagen, Denmark Jan 15, 2008 Bottle. [Great two day tasting session @ Papsoe] Average creamy off-white head that mostly lasted. Good thick display of lacework. Very cloudy amber color. Aroma of domination metallic note with light notes of fruit, caramel and hint of citrus. Light bodied with a soft carbonation. Light sweet and acidic flavor. Again metallic lingering finish. Did not like the metallic notes in this Tripel.
