Hazy orange amber colour, a good beige head. Aroma of orange peels, with some cocoa and honey, with some earthy notes. Light body and mostly sweet and creamy flavor. Taste of caramel, citrus tones, fruits and bread and the earthy notes. I can’t find the rustic taste they advertise, besides the earthy thing, but I’m more than impressed by this beer, maybe it was unexpected? shrubber85 (2966), Wallhalben, Germany
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 20, 2008 Bottle. Chocolate and rye malt aroma. Hazy amber with moderate head. Chocolate malt flavor with a hint of rye. Almost like a porter with the way it tastes and feels in my mouth. Very good. ekstedt (2446), Göteborg, Sweden

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 2, 2008 Bottle 33cl. Pours an appetising amber coloured cloudy brew with a small but durable white head. Grainy clear smell, citrus notes, high fermentation yeast. Very complex and massive taste although only 5% ABV. Very pleasant, interesting and unconventional. Recommendable! asheft (1438), Marburg, Germany

Spicy melanoidiny aroma with some currant and tobacco notes--maybe a little vitaminy from oxidation. Hazy to cloudy orangish-brown with only a thin ring of white foam. Not a very pleasant flavour: too much candy/oxidation flavour. Some interesting watermelon notes come in toward the end, but generally not very tasty. I don’t think this bottle is contaminated--but it is possible... Medium body, low carboation, tangy earthy finish. OldMrCrow (1200), Seattle, Washington, USA

Pours an elegant hazy orange amber with a beautiful nearly-white head. Mild malty aroma, somewhat dusty. The flavor is likewise initially mild and malt-driven, but there’s a complex delight in here that grows with each sip. It’s all about the grain; oats and wheat, mild brown bread with a drop or two of caramel layered over an ever-so-slightly sour base that hints of lemon and apple. Smooth creamy moutfeel. Hard to put a precise label on why this is so appealing, but it’s an extremely drinkable, enjoyable beer with a lovely rustic something lurking beneath its subtlety. MiP (9157), Sønderborg, Denmark
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Aug 19, 2007 Bottle, 5.0%. Buttery aroma. Cloudy amber colour, small white head. Buttery, sourish flavour. Thin mouthfeel. Seems flawed, which I did not expect from Riedenburg.
