Obtained as part of the Captains pack. Very nice brew but not as bitter as I am used to by ESB. Still the flavor was nice and had an excellent spiced flavor that lasted.

Bottle from Total Wine, notched best before April 2007. Pours a copper color with a light white fluffy head. Aroma is next to non-existent. Taste is caramel and a bit of hops to chase it. Lives up to the bitter billing, but there is nothing "extra special" about this beer. Meh.

12 oz bottle via Arctic Liquors Beer of The month club. Pours a semi clear amber with an average white head. Not sure what is going on in the nose...remnds of an old pair of my shoes..Taste is pretty bland..some musty English hops, a bit of grapefruit and grassiness.....just tastes old and a bit oxidized. i notice the ’best by’ bottles date was 7 months ago...Moderate carbonation. medium body...bleehh..

Nice aroma of malts with some faint hops present in the nose. Flavor is decent with malts and caramel, and a good hop character but not overly dominant. Nice mild bitterness on the finish. Not the best ESB, but good. Clean tasting, and a definite spicy hop flavor to accompany the malts.

Draft. Amber colored with a sweet and slightly creamy taste. Well rounded and mellow but very good.

bottle: transparent coppery appearance with a little honey colour has a white head that disipates. aroma is a little weak of malts and caramel. flavour is real nice balance of caramelly malts and spicy hops. a real good bitter aftre taste that is not to overpowering. overall a nice drinking beer that i would drink again and again.

Bottle: Clear copper colored pour with a white head. Aroma of caramel, some pale malts. Flavor, caramel, some grassy and spicy hops. Not a whole lot else going on. Average at best.
