Smells like bready, fruitty, and buttery. Tastes sweet, buttery, malty, and bready. Creamy mouthfeel with a medium to heavy body. Full-flavored and tasty, but well-ballanced with no one aspect overwealming another in this beer. Better like the ringwood yeast or you’ll hate it. Tmoney99 (4795), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 5, 2006 Bottle. Poured deep amber with a large frothy off-white head that lasted and produced good lacing. Medium balance sweet malty and small hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Moderate same balanced flavor with a small bitter finish of average duration. JPDIPSO (4939), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA

Caramel and dry flower aromas. Mild malt start leading to some caramel, light fruit and a touch of bitter nut. Fairly dry and earthy in the finish. Somewhat thin in feel. Only a small step up from a average american amber. WhiteAlePower (91), Long Island, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 1, 2006 Nothing special. Bottle. Poured deep reddish/brown hue. Very small head. Has an equal balance of sweetness and bitter hops to the flavour. Not bad at all. Just nothing to go out of the way for either. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 28, 2006 12 oz. bottle. Deep Honey color with almost no head. Stated out as a ring of foam and remained that way. Bread and malt on the nose. Just a touch of hops added to that in the flavor. Slightly drying finish. Decent. I am not a big ESB fan, but I could drink this one. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 27, 2006 This poured a deep, clear copper with a short, creamy, tan head. Aroma was rye above caramel with graininess and ever-so-light vinegar. There’s nothing really "mouthwatering" about it, but I found myself salivating like Pavlov’s dog as I smelled it (this is either an incredible beer or there’s something inexplicably wrong with me). Flavor found a bittersweet balance starting like a nutty, caramel candy & finishing with a bang like the Boston Tea Party. Buttery smooth in the mouth.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jan 13, 2006 Not bad, smells of citrus and hops, pours a nice copper color with a decent head, the flavor is crisp and of citrus and hops, the palate is perhaps a little watery, but it is a good beer.
