A little grassy and earthy. Nice flavor. Buttery and silky flavors and mouthfeel. Some nutty and caramel malt flavors. Smooth finish. This is a really good beer. drazil91 (39), Panama City, Florida, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 21, 2005 As you can tell I love ESB. Pours a beautiful brown color but with little or no head. Aromas of caramel and just a hint of citrus. Stays with the palate with a sweet finish. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 19, 2005 Okay beer. Clear light brown pour with a little head. Taste is very bitter, with toasted malt in the front. End is slightly sweeter with some metallic finish. While this was good, I am not very enthusiastic about getting it again.
