This golden ale poured with a bubbly off-white head that dissipated right away. The aroma is sour caramel. The flavor starts off malty sweet, but quickly turns to a bitter finish - a bit thin, but refreshing.

Amber. Small. fast head. Aroma: Fruit, caramel, malt. Flavor: Caramel dominates malt & earthy hops. Caramel finish. This is a beer that could double in the candy section. Doesn’t seem like a bitter but is very good. Personally, I feel it is a tad under-rated.

From a 12 oz bottle, this American take on a British style bitter is a smooth, sessionable ale with pleasant, slightly nutty body that belies its belligerent name and label art. Dont listen to the snobs on this site, Roger Protz has this on his list as one of the 300 beers to try before you die! Try it.

Decent beer, but pretty average. Not a whole lot to set it apart. Kind of watery, but refreshing and easy to drink.

...a decent approximation of its version across the water.......easy drinking and not as full bodied

I dont really like this beer. Watery flavor, boring aroma. Almost as if a US macrobrewer got their mitts into this one. Skip it if you can.

A below average bitter. Aroma was of malts, flavor/mouthfeel was very watered down malts, with a little alcohol bitterness. Wouldn’t buy again.

Deep brown, little head, lots of bubbles. Overall, a nutty esb with quite a bit of hop presence. Not too soapy, but overall a bit tart and earthy, which is strange following the floral, aromatic nose. Bitter finish is wet and slightly sticky.
