Sweet wood and corn taste with a more bitter finish. Light bodied with medium carbonation. One of the better I have had in the Pale Lager style in quite some time. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 27, 2006 Pale fizzy yellow body, no head, no nose, nothing much at all to it really, tastes sort of domestic and watery with some bland malts. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 11, 2007 Bottle. Pours gold with soapy white head. The aroma is low key but very sweet, something like corn and sugar cookies. The flavor is the same. There is just a tad of nondescript bitterness in there, too. This isn’t offensive, really, but sure doesn’t stand out, either. jrmac (213), USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 15, 2007 Very pale yellow color with a non existent head. Decent nose with a slight malty character. The taste is deceptive. It starts out a little sweet, but gives way to a bitterness that seems out of place. radagast83 (1301), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 9, 2006 Bottle at the Brickskeller in DC. Nothing at all to call home about, but I didn’t think this beer was that bad compared to so many cheap import lagers that are out there. BückDich (4847), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jun 12, 2007 Bottle: Yellow, nice white head, thick lacing. Nose of nutty malt, light hops, clean. The flavor is subtle, balanced, however you want to see it. OK, clean, maybe americanish? Suttree (2722), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Sep 2, 2007 Y’know, people look at a beer rater with over 1800 rating and think ’Wow, I bet his life is all bright lights and glamour". Well sure, I get the highs, the esteem, the accolades, the prestige that comes with with it, but what they don’t see is the work that happens in the trenches, the dirty jobs come with it. Like drinking a mildly crappy Lithuanian Lager to get another tick on the ratings list. Where’s the glamour now? Cornfield (4938), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 6, 2007 Not destined to become one of my favorite Rinkuškiai brews. It pours a dirty-yet-bright yellow body with a big bubbly head that reduces to a scummy film pretty rapidly. It’s got an aroma of raw grains with some corn syrup. The flavor’s not too bad. The corn syrup fades to the background while sweet malt pushes forward. No real signs of hops. Sugary finish. Not horribly unpleasant, but nothing I’d like to try again. I’ll stick with the Žaibo.
