The appearance is golden with with a small head. The flavor is bitter and sweet with no complexity and an unpleasant paper taste. The palate is thin. This is not good. | 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Apr 8, 2007 Bottle. White small very fizzy head that quickly dissipated with no lacing, visible carbonation, transparent, and a golden hue. Nose was malty, grain and some alcohol. Flavor was vinuous and grainy. Tingly mouthfeel. Medium body. This was almost a drainpour for me. Never again for me. Ibrew2or3 (2766), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jan 28, 2007 0.5 L that poured out gold with orange hue highlights. The off white head only lasted about 30 seconds. The aroma was sweet malt and corn and not much else. The brew had a somewhat thick and syrupy mouthfeel. The taste has sweet sugary malts, refined sugar, kernels of corn, and a bigger than expected hop bitterness around the edges. Not nearly enough hops to balance the malt liquor like sweetness. Not really a tasty beer but pretty good as far as this type goes. The hop presence seems floral and slightly spicy. This beer is nearly drinkable. Cornfield (4954), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 7, 2007 Please explain the commercial description to me. "Naturally fermented, the most heating and famous beer of Beer Country!" Well, it is "heating," being a 9.5% ABV beer. As for famous, I thought Aiko Aiko was a recording by Doctor John. Oh well. It’s a golden lager with a three fingered head that soon reduces to a ring with some film. The aroma is bread with some corn syrup splashed on top and a hint of green grasses. Oddly, a bit greasy (not oily) in the mouth. The sturdy ABV stays well hidden until absorbed. It tastes bready with a very mild floral bitterness. Sweet finish. Drinkable.
