drpimento (785), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA Oct 7, 2009 Got this bottle a couple of weeks ago at Surdyk’s in Minneapolis. Poured a decent white head which quickly all but disappeared and no lace. Color is a clear light to medium amber. Aroma wasn’t bad: malty and hoppy in a standard world beer sort of way. Flavor was much sweet and hops weren’t much present. Was a little taste of honey. Body was ok and carbonation was a little spritzy. Finish was mostly sweet with a touch of bitterness. Not a lot here. Forgettable. Wiseblood (658), Clarksville, Tennessee, USA Sep 17, 2009 Fizzy gold color with some spicy malt aromas. Sweet, bready malt flavors. Strange flavor of honey and wet hay. Came across as a bit stale. Barrios (852), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Apr 11, 2009 Thanks for nothin’ Butters! Bottle poured a fading white head with a clear, straw color body. Smells like corn. Tastes like grain and tin. Finish sweet and metallic. Butters (1622), Virginia, USA Apr 6, 2009 Sampled side by side with the high alc version. Near clear light gold pour with ample white head that fades quickly. Sweet vanilla nose that I’ve come to expect from all beers from this brewery. Very sweet and grainy flavor. Not all that bad. Cool label. nick76 (2636), Tampa, Florida, USA Mar 4, 2009 The aroma is sweet and malty with a floral hop and a hint of lighter fluid (strange for a 5.2%). The appearance is pale gold with a thin head. The flavor is like the aroma but thankfully very weak. The palate is watery. I am quite sure I don’t want to taste it again. FishManLA (284), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA Dec 30, 2008 Brassy color with an initially thick head that fizzes away fairly rapidly. Grainy, grassy nose. Grainy taste with hints of corn, grass, and a slightly metallic note. The metallic note lingers into the finish in which some hop notes are also subtly apparent. Palate is fizzy, suggesting forced carbonation. Not a terrible lager, actually, but not outstanding either. dm9831 (1167), Monee, Illinois, USA Dec 12, 2008 slightly hazy yellow color, no head, hint of lacing. aroma is malty, grainy, corny. flvor is sweet syrupy corn. almost candy corn! thick mouth feel, thick sweet finish. very trying. i am confused what the brewer was shooting for here. weirdly metallic aftertaste. pretty dreadful. Drew (2406), Kent, Ohio, USA Dec 6, 2008 Pale yellow hazy very little head. Aroma is very faint. ok, drinking it a bit cold and glad about it. Light watery body, sickening corn sugar cabbagey flavor at the end. ick.
