Bottle 647 of 2007 thanks to MuenchenerKindl bottle poured into a snifter produced a nice tan head that turns to a nice thick lace that slides down the glass . The body was a murky reddish brown in color. Sweet aromas of caramel malts, sugar and some molasses’ come up from my cup. Flavor are very sweet malts a good sipper some vanilla and butterscotch come thru as well as I sip away at this. Some bitter to this as well there is still some hops to it A little syrupy but there is some carbonation to it so it is bearable. After shoveling out my car to day this was the perfect time to break into this bottle. This is very enjoyable as I warm up sit back and a movie. A good barleywine very easy to drink

This poured a cloudy copper color with a fading soapy white head. The aroma contains some caramel and some cooked veggie presence as well. The flavor is a little odd contains some malt with a caramel presence but something is off in there. More of the cooked veggie thing I’m guessing. This is kind of like Yuengling on crack. None of the alcohol is really detectable. Overall I expected worse but still not that great.

bottle - Pours copper with a one finger light tan head. It tastes of caramel and grainy malt with a touch of hops and maybe just a little fruit. It’s medium bodied and has a mild, dry finish. Easily session-able but thoroughly unremarkable.

Peach-amber with vigorously bubbling body and thick tan head that slow compresses as the air pockets audibly burst. Pleasant intermingling of light caramel malt and hops in the aroma. Mild to moderate malt flavor. Pleasant tasting crystal/caramel malt backbone. Clean and crisp so as to completely deceive to the puissant punch it packs. No off-flavors, this is solid craftmanship. Reminiscent of a lightly malted amber albeit with a kick,

Cloudy pour with some foam and a bit of lacing. The mouth feel is very smooth for a high alcohol content, but the flavors are subtle and not pronounced.

Light amber. Small, fast head. Aroma: Caramel, earth. Flavor: Caramel, butter, metal. Finish: Alcahol, molasses. This beer desrves a somewhat better rating.

Aroma is sharp and malty with an undertone of apple cider. Color is a clear light mahogany, and it pours with a somewhat thick head that sticks around. Flavor is rather sweet but not cloying and has an undertone of caramel and a hint of apple. Texture is smooth and crisp, and aftertaste has both cider-like sweetness and hoppy bitterness in it.
