Rich copper colour. Low carbonation. Bright caramel aroma with a light apple accent. Sweet flavour, slightly minerally and again with bright caramel. It gets a touch oily late, but then the alcohol takes over, drying out the finish.

Amber to bronze in color with a smallish, but lasting cream colored head. Very sweet in the nose with caramel along with sweet and tart fruit, as well as a hint of spice. Very sweet flavors, that gradually lead to some dry wood and alcohol. Spice in the finish and linger. Bits of alcohol. I do catch a bit of malt really late in the linger. For some reason it is starting to grow on me, but I’m still only able to take small sips. A winter type brew, a bit like fruitcake. Ok once and a while and then just in small servings.

A dark copper body with a large, light kahki head. The aroma had some leather and caramel. There is also a fruity dried cherry note. The taste is light dried cherries with some tobacco. There is a dusty cobweb character throughout that actually helps to make this more interesting. A decent brew for the style.

Bottle with the goofy label for the US market. Golden lager appearance with a reddish tint and a pretty decent head. Very sweet aroma, with a hint of cooked sugar. Drinks with a pronounced biscuit lead-in, followed with an oddly partnered white grape component. There’s not much of a hint of 8.2%, I must admit. Kinda unusual. Not disgusting. (#3646, 8/20/2009)

Athens, Ga. - Five Points Bottle Shop - 500 ml bottle. Dark orange pour, little to no head and one of the cheesiest labels ever known to man - what is this Teen Wolf? Aroma of pencil shavings and overripe fruit. Flavor is artificially sweet with some hard candy flavors, white grapes and a hint of maple syrup. Mouthfeel is pasty and artificial.

Bottle from Abraxas on South Beach. Pours a very cloudy orangish color with a small whitish head. Aroma is full of sweet caramel and some nasty multi vitamin aroma. Flavor is really yucky. Sweet, caramel, chemical flavors, and as others have noted some really odd vegetal character. Didn’t even finish half a bottle. Gross.

Courtesy of Ramoned. Pours deep cloudy gold with thin off white head. The aroma is very sweet with malts, caramel, more caramel and then mixing with both caramel and molasses. Did I say it smells sweet? The taste is actually similar with sweet sweet malts and caramel to go along with a brief oasis of subtle roasted malts. There is little else going on here than that. I get no real sense of the sizable ABV.
