From beer club. Flat, watery with off flavors. Don’t know if I would call it wet cardboard, but its pretty bad. Had to pour half out.

Got this one in my beer club. Never heard of the brewer. I am not a fan of bocks in general. The vegetal aroma and flavor they often have turns me off. I sampled this one from a 12 oz brown bottle. It poured a mahogany color with a small tan head that faded quickly. The aroma is vegetal sour malt - but I expected that. The flavor was also vegetal sour malt. The malts were strong and the flavor was distinct. It really was not too bad but it’s main detracting point for me was stylistic rather than specific to this brewer.

Has a very nice deep reddish brown color but just an o.k. flavor and aroma. Drinkable, but nothing special.

Bottle - Pours a dark reddish amber with almost no head and little carbonation. Aroma is funcky ... others have mentioned sweetened cardboard and I agree. Flavor is not much better and has the distinct taste of wet cardboard with some lingering sweetness and very little of anything else. Not very good at all...

Dark amber color. Small to no head. Aroma is sweet, touch of cardboard, grain, rice and cardboard, and none of it very nice. . A light bodied bock. Malts are fruity and sweet. Lots of cardboard (both wet and dry) No hop flavor. No much malt flavor either, just cardboard and wet towels and possibly some wet dog as well. This makes 4 of 4 awful beer for the December 2004 Micro Brew of the Month Club. The last swallow of this induced a shudder. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is neutral

This beer poured a clear ambery mahogany color with a thin quickly dissipating head. But damn what a horribly OBNOXIOUS aroma. I mean this was a foul, offensive, outlandishly obnoxious aroma! It was a managerie of vile sweetnesses. Wet dog, cardboard, grains, rice, malts, wet towel and salt. What in the hell was going on in this aroma? I dunno...but I didn’t want to delve much further. I plugged my nose and down it went! Very watery palate with a malty cotton, cardboard flavor. Thin pseudo-dark coffee bean flavor that led into plastic horrendousness. Dry finish, thin, awful awful awful idea! What the funk happened here...i don’t know, but I don’t want to see this ever again! This is pretty goddamn horrendous...it even caused mitch to shudder in horror!

Red in color with zero head. Appealing strong malt, caramel aroma with some honey. Thin in body. A little flavor of what was in the aroma but extremely watered down. Really weak.

I’m not sure what to make of this. It poured a decent reddish-brown color with little of any head. The really odd thing is, both the aroma and the finish were soy sauce. There’s some sweet malt in the taste, but it’s fairly mild. And watery. With a soy sauce finish.
