Commercial Description:
Outlaw Lager is a full-bodied copper lager. This hoppy brew is one of the last remaining examples of America's only indigenous beer style. This "bastard lager" is fermented at ale temperatures producing esters that add complexity to its clean finish.

Thanks to Degarth for giving me this beer a long F-ing time ago!

Beer pours a fluffy ivory head and an amber body. The aroma is sweet and underdeveloped. Flavor brings a slight nuttiness, some sweet roasted grains, and a hint of molasses. The palate is super thin and the beer is forgettable, however, I would definitely not pass if it were offered once again… probably because I would have forgotten about its few characteristics.

This beer has an aroma of roasted nuts. Its color is some where between copper and bronze and it has a good thick light almond colored head. This beer is thin and watery it spreads through the mouth fast and leaves a mild sour nut taste as it is swallowed.

Pours an unclear amber, with a fully receding off-white head. For a lager, it’s not very carbonated or clear. Aroma is fruity, raisins, plums, somewhat nutty. Interesting, but not foul. Taste begins with all of the unusual esters and melts into a vague wateriness. Light bodied and lightly carbonated. I agree with PorterPounder, this definately tastes like a homebrew, slightly oxidized and lacking refinement. Granted, this was in the bargain bin at Jax, it is likely rather old.

Jax Beer and Wine - Atlanta, Ga - 12 oz bottle. Light copper appearance, thin white head. Olive oil like aroma with some sweet biscuity notes in the back end. Flavor has a bit of a caramel tint to it with a hint of licorice as well and a finish of olive oil. Slightly odd for a lager. Fades very quickly - kind of homebrewy tasting. Mouthfeel is pretty thin. Not one for the ages.

ugh, this was awful and terribly old. for what its worth, i think a fresh one might be better. the aroma of this one made the kitty freak out too. i tried to have her taste some and she scratched at me. like taking a yeast shot with water on top.

An amber appearance. The aroma is a bit foul and makes you put your cup down and back up off it. A watery beer with little flavor and what flavor that is there is not good. Some dark malt and a yeasty doughy thing going on. This sucks.

Bottle. Pours a clear and light amber color with a spare offwhite head. Lacing is fair. Aroma is average malt, and average hops. Lightly toasty, and full of caramel. Light in body with almost no carbonation and a thin texture. Flavor is short in duration, lightly acidic, lightly bitter, and lightly sweet. Finish is slightly metallic and dry. Not bad overall, went down quick and without much applause. Wonder if it is any different on draft. Nice finish though.
