Strong caramel and milk chocolate aroma, with light notes of coffee and gravel. Pretty thin flavour and mouthfeel, with some caramel and milk chocolate. Fairly one-dimensional and boring. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Mar 14, 2005 Average head, white with a light brown body, different for a lager. Aroma is strong caramel and malts. Little else. Light and thin, overly sweet and no hop or malt backbone. JoeMcPhee (5030), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 13, 2005 Light brown with a touch of ruby in it. Thin head. Aroma is quite toasty, grainy and heavily caramelized. Flavour is a bit nutty, light caramel and a touch of charcoal. Strange combination of flavours in such a thin-bodied beer. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Mar 13, 2005 Golden-amber colour. Heavy aroma of caramel and fresh malts. Watery body with light malt flavour. Where did those fresh grains go? I wouldn’t have pegged this as a steam beer, though. Mangino (1027), Mississippi, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Feb 8, 2005 Pours a murky red/brown color, with no head. Aroma is malt and corn. Flavor is a little thin, apples, bitter fruits, some malt and alcohol. Palate is thin and watery. Thanks to Beerguy101 for this one! YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA

This wasn’t bad for a lager but that’s not saying much. Copper/amber with frothy white head. Sweet nose. Watery texture. Flavor was thin and without substance. This beer would get creamed up against any Tex-Mex or Southwestern style cuisine. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Jan 18, 2005 Malty, aroma has plenty of caramel, butterscotch, honey and dark fruit. Dark copper-amber coloured body with shy, off-white, head that diminishes to thin ring. Malty flavour has some notes of butterscotch and toffee but seems somewhat flat and papery. Mild finishing bitterness keeps it from cloying. Medium-light body is somewhat sticky. Carbonation is unfortunately almost non-existent. Bottle. Thanks, Degarth! beerguy101 (3960), Newark, California, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Jan 9, 2005 Medium dark amber color. Small to no head. Aroma is caramel, sweet and honey. A medium to light bodied ale. Malts are fruity and estery, with a touch of cardboard and honey. Hops are slightly bitter. Not really sure just what this beer is supposed to be. The main flavors are malts, think of a nearly flat watered down coke, and the hops are mostly missing. WHATEVER…..At least this bottle was drinkable; the first was so bad I poured it out before even pouring it in the glass. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with a large touch of cardboard.
