Commercial Description:
Outlaw Lager is a full-bodied copper lager. This hoppy brew is one of the last remaining examples of America's only indigenous beer style. This "bastard lager" is fermented at ale temperatures producing esters that add complexity to its clean finish.

Bottle - Pours a darkish amber with a thin white head that quickly faded to a ring around the glass. Aroma is sweet with faint honey-like tones and some butterscotch (diacetyl). Flavor is "different", in a not real pleasent kind of way ... no distinct hop or malt flavors. Sorta smokey with some yeast that fades to a slightly sour finish that sticks to your tongue. Not a very good beer and not one I will (willingly) choose to repeat.

Nice amber color but an odd aroma - a cross between butterscotch and something? Thanks to Vince and Kathy for my gift to beer of the month club - this is one of the monthly selections and I’m looking forward to the next ones.

Pours thin and light amber in color with little head. Aroma of honey with some tartness. Thin and dry with some bready flavors, a bit of sour cactus and a hint of smoke. Interesting combination of flavors although not the greatest beer.

very light indeed. Even the appearance looked like this beer was watered down. A light amber/brown color with no head. taste wasnt too impresive some malts but a lingering aftertaste that seemed almost sour or off.

Thanks to Degarth for this bottle. Reddened amber. Small tanned head. Nose is strong malt with light roasted notes. There’s also an odd tobacco-ey note to it as well. Taste is mucht he same, strong malt with some roasted notes and tobacco with a light caramel note or two. Body is a bit thin. Finishes with more caramel, tobacco and malt. Average.

A plain and kind of malty lager. Full bodied but of what. They lost control of the malt and the yeast kind of sat there, not nutty or the good skunky. Sort of third world malta vigor.

I don’t know, I’d just call this one’s taste a mess. The aroma has some citrus to it to me but it doesn’t seem to transfer to the flavour. Never having had this one would not have disappointed me.

Good malty drink. It pours from the bottle a deep amber color with barely any lacing, let alone a head. Nice roasted malt aroma with a touch of grassiness. Very smooth mouthfeel, but perhaps a bit watery. Tastes of roasted malts, mildly sweet, with a subtle hop balance. Very clean finish.
