Ungstrup (11385), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 9, 2006 A brown beer with a light brown head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of caramel, but also slightly burnt and roasted notes as well as hints of chocolate. The flavor is sweet with a weird herbal note, leading to a dry roasted end. I really enjoy the aroma, but find the flavor odd. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden May 22, 2006 [Bottled at Købehavnske Øldage] Clear nut brown, brief head. Sweet and lightly roasty with some ashy vegetables. Medium boodied with rounded but mellow mouthfeel and medium bitterness. Fairly dull. Papsoe (10517), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 14, 2006 (Bottle 70 cl) Pours a clear, reddish mahogany with a neatly creamy, off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt and perhaps some chocolate. Medium-bodied, dry, roasted malts and a light bitter finish. Slightly burned edge. The best from Rise so far. 120706 yespr (6943), Copenhagen O, Denmark Oct 21, 2007 70 cL bottle. Pours deep amber/brown with a dense and light brown head. Sweet and slight citric nose with a solid malt base revealing a slight roasted note. Caramel and chocolate soft flavour at first going into a roasted malt dominated flavour. Finish is bitter and astringent herbal with a minor citric note. Finish also holds a distinct alcohol note beyond the 6% ABV which the beer according to the label should hold. joergen (6529), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 24, 2007 Bottle.
