Commercial Description:

English: The Grolle Pilsner is a traditional beer brewed of water, hops and lager yeast. The result is a golden, fresh and filling pilsner with a lovely bitter aftertaste. A real thirst quencher. The name Grolle means sparrow in the local dialect, and in the old days the aeroese used to call themselves "groller", because with their coaster ships (also known as groller) they sailed the seven seas. The sparrow (grolle) can also be found in our logo. At the same time, it is our brewmaster Stig Anker Andersen’s tribute to Josef Grolle, the young Bavarian brewmaster who traveled to Pils in Bohemia and was the first in 1842 to perfect the brewing technique for the beer later to become known as pilsner.

Clear golden with medium whtie head. Sweet aroma with vague malt notes. Sweet flavour with grassy hops, malt and hints of caramel. Finished somewhat dry and bitter.

Bottle that I picked up at a supermarket in Denmark, Sept 08, consumed Dec 08. Pours warm golden in colour with a slight haze and a white head. There is sweet maize showing first, some malt on the nose. This beer is very clean tasting and with a light bitterness and soft palate its ok. Carbonation is quite decent and there is a light floweriness in there also. A6 A3 F6 P4 OV13 3.2

aroma is a little hoppe, and a little sweetish.. nice, clear golden, large head, that quickly disappears, quite delicate balanced flavor of sweet and slightly hoppy/sour. some sugar in there. well done, but not as hoppy as for instance jakobsen økologisk pilsner.

Bottle. Clear golden colour with a fine white head. Malt and hops in the aroma and flavour. Not much different from a regular mainstream pilsner. Refreshing but boring.

Bottled. Yellowish golden colour, not much head. Aroma is vegetably malts and some sweet notes. Flavour is grassy, mildly grainy and also some slight notes of hops. Aftertaste is grainy and a bit rubbery.

50cl bottle. Pours clear golden with a off white head. Aroma is sweet of hay/corn & grass - not very pleasant. Taste is a bit better - it has a slight bitter note. Thin palate. Not exceptionally good - but not that bad either! I will finish the bottle off like a wolf hunting in the woods! And then im moving on..... not looking back!

The aroma is terrible like urin with a twist of butter. Possible the worst beer I have ever had! Had a sip and poured the rest out! Even beer with infection is better than this!
