Rich bready malt aroma with a pronounced smoky character. Reasonable chocolate malt and caramel in the mouth but let down considerably by a clear metallic note. Pleasant and spritely mineral finish brings it back on track but it’s nothing special overall. a nice enough brew but drinks much more like a märzen if you ask me. motelpogo (4399), Plzen, Czech Republic

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 1, 2006 An amber beer with a huge light brown head. The aroma is sweet malty, and the flavor is sweet with primary notes of caramel, leading to a dry bitter end that also has a hint of roastiness. JorisPPattyn (5193), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 27, 2006 Small yellowish fine head; dark red-brown beer. Dark head with dark sugar, and a fine, just-not-hops leafy aroma, delicate; slightly honeyish. Soft-sweet taste, a bit dry-leafy, dried-out black bread. Very little aftertaste, just some dryness - again dried (not toasted) bread. Mineral water quality, slightly syrupy impression on swallowing. Pretty good, just what a simple beer should be about. joergen (8638), Frederiksberg, Denmark
