Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Sep 1, 2009 On tap at the River City brewpub. Pours amber with tan head and spotty lacing. The aroma is huh? What is that? It seems to be roasted malts mixing with black licorice, spiced apples and a light dose of assorted chemically metal blitch. The flavor confirms something is amiss with this brew. It goes from roast to burnt and then to a mix of metal shavings and organic earthy sewer pipe. Hmmm. Scores all 3s across the board. sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 16, 2009 Tap @ brewpub.
Surly enough a riptide must have snuck into the mash. This is a horrible example of a porter and of a beer in general.
Pours dark brown, thin white head.
Aroma had this once again, lingering nasty apple nose, felt as if the beer had been brewed months ago and just sat there.
Flavor, some faint roasted malts, and everything else just disappeared leaving room for a pungent apple. Surely something must have gone bad.
unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Aug 2, 2009 Clear, light brown color. Fruity aroma, hints of raisin and light cola notes. Hints of chocolate malt. light roast. Very light bodied. The best of the lot I have tried so far. And that’s not too good. 25 July 09 BrockLanders (747), Panama City, Florida, USA May 28, 2009 This review is about 2 yrs late....but it doesn’t diminish the miserable feelings I had after drinking this swill. Horrible example of a porter. The only high point is that I didn’t let my disappointment in the terrible service influence this review! Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Feb 13, 2009 You get a tiny 1oz sampler for free. Of those, only the regular blond and this weren’t butter bombs. So I tasted this one only. Dark brown. Lightly chocolatey aroma. It’s thin, but it has a nice smokey accent that really helps it out. Beershine (2677), Hue, Vietnam Feb 13, 2009 Medium-brown and boring looking. Bland aroma confirms the suspicion. Smokey flavors are not bad, but the body is thin. markwise (1132), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA Feb 26, 2008 This was a very watery porter. It was dark water with chocolate and some nutty, coffe, and did not sit as heavily as a porter usually does. Not bad, but I am not a huge fan. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Nov 25, 2007 Date: 11/19/2007
