Commercial Description:
For the true afficianado of zymurgy (brewing). Riptide Porter is a dark, full-bodied ale. Made from six types of malt, whole wheat and a pinch of roasted barley, its rich complex flavor has overtones of chocolate and coffee with a hint of sweetness.

Very good brewpub Porter and my choice for a pint from the four I sampled. Dark, ruby red to black pour with good mocha colored head and lacing. Has a chocolately aroma, with some hoppy bitterness coming through. The flavor has elements of coffee interlaced with the chocolate and there is a bit of hoppy biitterness - almost vineous in nature that sits just right. Overall, a very good Porter.

Sparkling clear, mahogany ale. Small, creamy, khaki-colored head. Decent lacework and retention. The nose is of milk chocolate, coffee and lots of other intertwined roasted notes. Chocolate, coffee and grapefruit in the flavor. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, toasted, mildly bitter, strawy finish. Refreshing and very drinkable.

TheDM and Hotstuff vacation brew 38. This draft brew was enjoyed at the brewery in Jacksonville Florida. This brew poured a large sized head of foamy fine-large sized mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a transparent uncarbonated brown colored body and a good lace. The aroma was that of a milf brown malt and the mouthfeel was smooth and tingly. The flavor was that of a medium strength brown malt.

You get a tiny 1oz sampler for free. Of those, only the regular blond and this weren’t butter bombs. So I tasted this one only. Dark brown. Lightly chocolatey aroma. It’s thin, but it has a nice smokey accent that really helps it out.

Draft at River City. Poured dark brown with an average off-white frothy head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Moderate toasted caramel malty aroma. Medium body with a watery texture. Medium sweet smoke flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration.
