Sledge Jr (2720), Omaha, Nebraska, USA May 26, 2007 On tap at the Parkville Microbrew Festival. Good Lord that’s an interesting Impy. Pours black with a yellow-ivory beige head. The solid creamy head leaves awesome lacing behind. Has a real smokestack aroma of roasted chocolate and lots of smoke. Chewey, thick palate. This beer really masks its high alcohol. This is tight, solid, and smooth. tjthresh (1318), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Apr 30, 2007 Sampled at the Parkville Microbrewers Festival. Poured opaque black with a some light brown head. Both the aroma and flavor were like a cup of coffee with a decent amount of creamer in it. It drank pretty rich, and I didn’t think there was too much hop character. It was a nice beer, but it drank too much like a sweet/cream stout to rate among the good Imperial Stouts.
