Dark brown color, nice, though modest cocoa tan foam above...adequate... Aroma: malt, sweetish, dark, cocoa and nut and...rather rich, likable... Very tasty on the tongue, too...cocoa rings loud, dark fruit, deliciousness, dates and nuts, and all those other things...rich, molasses-y, ...big and rich, sez I, no country music fan... Biggish body, longish finish...sweetness, richness, and full of flavor. Delish...I just keep on enjoyin’...

Pours dark brownish red with a head that fades immediately. Sour, sweat-sock aroma. Dusty and stale flavor with tons of lactic sourness (and not in a good way), tangy tartness, dark caramel and dark fruits. Moderately sweet, plenty of bitterness in the finish. Medium body with lively carbonation. No lacing or head retention. Just didn’t taste or smell good at all.

Bottle. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a medium sized lasting tan head. Odd mild aroma of caramel malt, yeast, spices, sugar, dark fruit and hops...I think...I had a hard time with this one. Flavour’s similar to the aroma but also a little sour with a spicy, hoppy alcoholic finish. Medium bodied. I don’t know, there’s something odd about this beer, It didn’t do much for me.

Pours very dark brown with a pretty sad head. Aroma is very husky wheat, sprouts, almond, wine, licorice. This beer undergoes a big taste evolution as it warms, starting similar to the aroma but then hitting a phase of intense, overwhelming fruity esters and then back down to a pretty lacking, diactyl laced sprouty taste.

Bottle. Slightly dark brown color. Small head. Strong aroma, with some belgian ale aroma. Strong, but a very nice finish.

Pours a one finger, light tan head that quickly fades to a ring leaving a traces of lace. Deep amber almost black color. Very light carbonation and medium bodied. Sweet toffee nose. Starts sweet and malty, fruity, finish has hints of hops. $1.75 for a 12oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.

Bottle, poured into small pilsner glass. No head. Light brown/Dark Ruby color. Smell is strong, a mix of some spice and a Belgian aroma. Taste is confusing as well, mix of Belgian beer with spice or herb beer. Weak palate for such a beer. As it warms becomes more malty and a little sour. Overall, I like the idea of Belgian mixed with spice/herb but the exacution doesnt work out.
