Much better then the selection on turkey day. Bottle. Poured brwon/amber with off white head. Strong alcohol taste for a 7.5%. Bitter also, with a sour after taste. 5000 (2640), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 22, 2004 Bottle pours brown, amber tint, very small fizzly off-white head, faint lacing, with lively carbonation.   Slightly malty aroma, faint sweetness, with notes of tobacco.   Muted dark pitted fruit (missing its sweetness), dark malts, with some fancy tobacco tossed in.   Quite the odd brew this is.   Slightly bready.   Body and mouthfeel are nice, but not as full or complex as most Belgians.   Enjoyable finish, lingering muted dark pitted fruit with tobacco.   Thanks goes out to radiomgb for the trade!

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 19, 2004 Black colored, small head. Nose like a typical non alcoholic malt beer, sweet and doughy. All in all the same in taste, but very thin. I don’t get why it is declared as a Belgian Strong Ale - nothing Belgian, nothing strong and clearly nothing Ale in here. Discofish (152), USA

The other flavors are diminished, and is really sweet. As the beer warms, you begin to taste pleasnt yeasts and malts. Finish is sweet and the palate feels thin and watery. jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 12, 2004 On cask at Andy’s Corner. Cloudy, brown/red color with a large tan head.
Yeasty aroma with hints of banana,
coriander and hops. Flavor was malty sweet, but dried somewhat on the finish
with a touch of hop bitterness. MaiBockAddict (1499), Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Dec 9, 2004 Cask at Andy’s. Cloudy and brownish with a tan head. Wheat beer like clove and banana aroma and flavor. Extra hops in the nose (I assume dry hopped). Flavor is malty resembling a weizenbock, only a tad lighter. Slight carmel note. Much better than the bottle... Drew (2410), Kent, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 9, 2004 This is a nice gentle warmer - more of a cure for frostbite; a soft sweatshirt keeping me warm. Deep ruby - a beauty to look at, short head, mostly clear lacing. Starts off toasty and chocolate with hints of caramel/toffee, sweet plums, citrus and cherries come in at the finish. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 8, 2004 Clear with a reddish-brown color with a small head, but decently carbonated. The taste is not too much like a belgian strong, but it is a smooth flavor with notes of malt and citrus and sweet fruit. Not a great brew, but decent
