| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 13, 2007 12 oz Bottle: Pours with a MASSIVE head. It took just about the entire OT period of the KU-ISU bball game for me to pour this one. After the head finally went away, it was a lovelyl deep dark brown with reddish colors. If the head wasn’t so explosive, the appearence would be a 5. The aroma is nice. Some green apples, some smokey-roasted malts, plums, and sweetness. The flavor was smoked/roasted malts strongly preveleant. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 2, 2007 Reddish brown with a small head and average at best lacing. Aroma is like a poor man’s Rochefort 10. It’s got that plummy spiced note in the aroma, just not nearly as much, nor was there much more than some basic malts. Flavor is like a very poor man’s Rochefort 10. Very watery, light notes related to that beer with some light caramel sweetness and some fruityness. Alcohol is hidden well though. Overall I was guessing this was gonna be a quad around 10th percentile, but close enough haha. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 31, 2006 Bottle. Poured murky brown into trappist glass creating a minimal if no head. Aroma was malty, mostly brown sugar. First sip was mouth puckering sour--like bottled lemon juice or underripe raspberries. Sourness overwhelmed a generally caramel/toffee foundation. Slightly bitter burnt coffee finish. Had a slippery, juicy mouthfeel. Reminds me a bit of Lake Placid Ubu Ale. Not sure if this is how the beer was meant to taste, but I’m kind of sorry I bought the whole six-pack. JB175 (1664), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 30, 2006 Dark brown color with a malty-sweet aroma. Taste is decent, but a warning - THIS BEER DOES NOT LAST LONG OR AGE WELL! I had this one soon after purchase and a again in the summer and the difference was drastic. I’m not a huge fan of River Horse precisely because they always seem to produce sub-par products. Sure this is drinkable, but it should be alot better. Nejhleader (930), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 11, 2006 Pours a deep brown with thin off-white head. Mild malty aroma. Taste is malty and sweet, with molasses, brown sugar and a dose of hops. Good flavor, but a bit on the thin side. TURDFERGUSON (1604), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 10, 2006 Bottle from my SS. sour, funkiness combined with mildly sweet belgian malts. Strange combo. Doesnt work very well for me. I feel a drain pour coming on. I have more deserving beers in my fridge.
