kmweaver (1768), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA May 9, 2008 12oz bottle, courtesy of argo0. Thanks, Aaron! Pours a hazy, honey-golden color; white head with decent retention and mixed-bubbled lacing. Pleasant amounts of coriander, orange peel, breadiness, and citrus in the aroma; solid witbier nose. High levels of carbonation. Medium mouthfeel: citrus, toasty vanilla and yeastiness, some coriander; softly spiced, chewy white beer with some pepper; very nice demonstration of the style. Medium finish: toasty malts, vanilla, and a touch of pepper and spice.
Foolish_Mortal (927), San Diego, California, USA Jul 2, 2008 12oz bottle. Pale golden color with a very large rocky white head. Heavy spicy aromatics; coriander, citrus zest, bubblegum, and clove. Sharp spiciness upfront, melange of aroma characters. Grainy, wheaten flavor then asserts itself. Fruity esters and floral perfumey spice linger in the finish, with heavy residual wheat. Mouthfeel is a light medium, somewhat dry. riversideAK (1427), Shoreline, Washington, USA Jul 2, 2008 Bottle from hopdog. Thanks dude! Golden orange, nice fluffy head, some floaties. Spice, coriander, orange peel, wheat aromas. Acidic flavors of orange rinds, wheat, and spice. This might actually be kind of hoppy too. Lots of carbonation tickles the tongue. Tangy finish with a soft underlying wheat that softens it out a little. Sammy (2946), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 30, 2008 Cloudy yellow like grapefruit with white bubbly head and a bit of lace. A bit astringent. OK beer. Spiciness, cloves and cardoman beneath the surface. Understated carbonation. hopscotch (4358), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Jun 29, 2008 Bottle... Hazy straw-colored ale with a large, frothy, white head. Breadsy and spicy aroma with fruity esters (or actual fruit peels, I dunno). Medium-bodied and creamy with laid back carbonation. Spicy and sweet. Light acidity. Tangy, spicy finish. DeadGuyFrank (316), http://westchesterbeer.com, USA Jun 22, 2008 The sentiments of RsteBeer’s member Heathen is right on the mark - finally a River horse that I liked. Pours a typical murky gold, lots of citrus and hop flavor yes some Belgian style banana in there as well. Not bad, not bad at all.
