adrian910ss (1011), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 31, 2008 On draft at the GL. Pours a cloudy gold with a small white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast and spice. Taste of spicy hops and wheat. nuplastikk (416), Maryland, USA Jul 22, 2008 12oz bottle. Darker than expected orange-tan colored beer with a very frothy, thick head. 7% hardly justifies the "Double" categorization or the hefty price tag for a sixer, but this is a great beer. Lacy smooth mouthfeel, with some Belgian candi sugar tastes in there potentially. Sweet and creamy, with lots of Wit spices coming through as well. A top notch beer from River Horse, perhaps the best I’ve had from them. DocLock (4085), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 22, 2008 Bottle. Pours turbid dull gold with white head. Nose is malty, citric, limey, with floral and white pepper notes. Tastes crisp and clean with a solid balance of limey citrus, spicy hops, and yeasty malt. raymow (735), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 15, 2008 Decent color with a cloudy, yeasty appearance. Flavor is as one would expect for the style and the quality of River Horse. I can taste a bit more alcohol than I would expect from a 7%er. Ughsmash (2985), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jul 15, 2008 Thanks to Markus for the bottle! Poured cloudy medium golden with a tall, well-retained, fluffy cap of white head.. some chunky sediment in there. The aroma was drier with dusty wheat and bananas.. white pepper overtones.. touch of lemon on the zest.. very well balanced. Semi-sweet banana and white pepper again in the flavor.. spicier on the back with some overt alcohol.. floral notes and a little light fruit on the middle.. warm peppery finish. Medium-plus bodied with a touch of dry cardboard at the edges.. spicy finish was alright. Good brew.
