Commercial Description:
Brewing the perfect ale is truly a balancing act ... Hazardous work you might say. With Hop Hazard our challenge was to hand craft a malt rich base that could counterbalance a combustible five-hop blend and still leave your taste buds with enough room to enjoy a unique, dry-hopped finish.

Pours a clouded amber with a one finger creme head. Nose is hoppy, metallic, and a bit like an acorn too. Flavor is slightly sweet with a calm hop presence. Feel is a bit thick but with low carbonation. Overall it is pretty drinkable. But I won’t be saying it is one to run out to the store for.

12oz. bottle - pours lightly cloudy amber with a small head. Aroma is quite mild but heavy on the cascades - citrusy grapefruit from the dry-hopping. Quite faint otherwise, but you can sense the malt background. Flavour is less hoppy, kind of mild and thin actually, with caramel malt making up the rest of the body. Sweet. Bitterness comes forth in the finish and especially the aftertaste. Fairly simple beer, not very interesting or distinct. The label is nice for sure.

Smells very strongly of grapefruit or some other kind of citrus. Pours a light copper color with a thick yellowish head. Taste is light in the hops, slightly bitter and kind of watery. Not a spectacular pale ale, but not bad. Very carbonated, quite fizzy in the mouth, almost like champagne.

A bit cloudy and light looking but not a bad taste at all. Somewhat hoppy, not overly so like many similar products. Malt comes through, but not unpleasantly so - just maybe not what you would expect in this style. Good. But not great.

Bottle from mesquito in doylestown, pa. Pours a cloudy, muted orange color. Looks like flat apple juice. Not much in the way of a noticeable aroma. Malt profile overpowers much of the hop experience here but you do get a little bitterness and some citrus in the flavor. Would like a little more hop presence in something called hop hazard.

hazy dark amber, whispy beige head, sweet carmel malt aroma, big carmel malt flavor, lots of bittering hops, long bitter finish, no complexity

Medium-sized, bulbous-bubbled white head, decent retention. The body is tangerine orange, cloudy and appetizing looking. The aroma is nearly equal parts toasted grains and light, citric hops. Grapefruit, ornage and bready scents modestly conceal the too-noticeable alcohol character. Detergent scents abound. The flavor is moderately bitter, moderately acidic and pretty sweet. Grapefruit hops and hefty toasted malt does not a good combination make, not with the addition of staleness and detergent. Acidity is an annoyance. Finishes lightly bitter, drying, grainy. Mouthfeel is highly carbonated, light-medium in body and unpleasant. I don’t care for this beer, nor do I care for this brewery.

Pours a cloudy light orange color with a small off white head. Musty, fruity aroma, alor of orange peel and grapefruit, with hops backing it up. More malty in the flavor than hoppy, not extremely lively or exciting in the least bit, but nothing seemingly wrong with it. Mild hops and citrus fruit are both present, which form together to give it a sweet character. The hops push through a little in the finish, but not much. Not really bitter at all, which was interesting. Seems the frutiness of it blocks it our somewhat. Not a bad pale at all.
