Commercial Description:
Brewing the perfect ale is truly a balancing act ... Hazardous work you might say. With Hop Hazard our challenge was to hand craft a malt rich base that could counterbalance a combustible five-hop blend and still leave your taste buds with enough room to enjoy a unique, dry-hopped finish.

big off white head, smells like a big mush of hops, tastes mostly hoppy, but not seriously undermalted, firebrick red brown, appearing orangeish in medium light. Head pretty persevearant, like horehound candy with the variegated bitterness and sweetness interaction.

Bottle and served in a pint glass: Pours a light coppery hue with an average fading head and some lacing. The aroma has notes of grassy and floral hops, bready malts, apple, and dusty yeast esters. The taste started lightly bitter and citric with a subdued pale malt background. Additional it comes off a bit earthy but ultimately under whelming. The feel is moderately crisp and lively, astringent and chalky finish. An okay beer but nothing I would seek again.

on tap-pours a creamy, rich tan head that laces. Color is copper. Aroma hops. Taste is lighter hops with a bite. Secondary malt and sweetness. Medium carbonation and medium body. This beer seemed to vary on each serving and from a bottle too.

(Bottle) A kind gift from my downstairs neighbour and friend, Sean. Pours a medium, foamy, beige slow dissipating head and a near reddish-amber body. minute sedimentation and very mild carbonation. Bitter hopped nose with lemons and grapefruit in the range. The taste of blood oranges, pine cones and whipped milk. The finish is somewhat abrupt, clinging to bitter hops as they fade away. Very good.

Bottle (12oz). Poured cloudy bubbly amber, smallish creamy-rocky off-white head. Aroma of medium fresh citrus (orange) hops, slightly funky, sweet malt, maybe a hint of peat. Taste has malt backbone, but this is about a blend of hops - not overwhelming, but the flavours rotate, a longish bitter grapefruit finish. Mouthfeel astringent, creamy, decent body, quite lively. Not a *big* APA, but very drinkable.

Pours slightly hazy orange and a fine off-white head. Dominating hoppy aroma with nutty tones. Typical IPA, nice and well balanced. Dry hoppy flavor, mild but tasty. Rather thin in the body with a bit of fruit. Dry finish.

An interesting take on the style. Slightly hazy orange w/ a small head that reduces to a small ring w/in a few minutes. Nose is loaded w/ toffee w/ some grassy hop notes as well. Flavor is rather mild and is mostly earthy, grassy hop flavors w/ a hint of citrus. A good dose of bitterness in the finish rounds things out.

bottle. orange-copper body with a small white head. the aroma, as Doug mentioned, is much like a barley wine. lots of malt, butterscotch, citrus hops, and yeast. the flavour has some biscuit malt and sharp citrus hop bitterness. very good and an interesting take on the style.
