Commercial Description:
Brewing the perfect ale is truly a balancing act ... Hazardous work you might say. With Hop Hazard our challenge was to hand craft a malt rich base that could counterbalance a combustible five-hop blend and still leave your taste buds with enough room to enjoy a unique, dry-hopped finish.

12oz. bottle. Hazy amber color with a small white head. Hoppy, citrusy aroma with a hint of butterscotch. Flavor starts off mildly sweet malt before the hops kick in and finishes lightly bitter. Flavors are kind of subdued, but very easy drinking.

12 oz. bottle purchased at the brewery. One of the finest pale ales I’ve tasted to date. Clear amber color with a nice lacey head. Sweet fruity aroma. Very flavorful with lots of fruit flavor, hop bitterness, and malt sweetness. Very well balanced.

Bottle that was just put on the shelves at A Street Wines in Cambridge. Should be fresh, but flavor is anything but. Almost exactly the same as the Special Ale, only add a pronounced hops bitterness and light flavor. The hops are old and soaked, giving a nutty, soily, stale flavor. Though not really much flavor at all. Just really a dry, floral bitterness, leafy and lightly papery. Aroma has some notes of these hops, sourish yeast or sourish grains or something sour, anyways. Light butteriness, astringent and bland. An orangish-copper colored beer, with a chill haze, rather lifeless looking, with a thin string of bubbles on the edges, no lacing. Malt has left the building.

lots of hops and a sweetness i normally expect from a wheat beer. a deep gold body and a creamy off white head. i felt more like this was an IIPA because of the amount of malts going on, which were nicely balanced with all of the hops. the finish was also very sweet, almost a pineapple and orange taste coming through very late.

Nice aroma - lightly hopped and full-nosed malts. Butter and caramel too. The flavor is very mild for an APA, yet it is very smooth, which is a redeeming quality. Malty and roasty, balanced with citrus/grapefruit. A pleasant finish.
