| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 16, 2008 VRBT. Deep amber. Flavors matched the aroma, straightforward spicy hops. Thin in the mouth, not enough malt backbone for my tastes. Slipstream (785), USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 8, 2008 Nice label - I like the labels that this New Jersey brewer uses. Malty aroma with yast and a little nastiness. Pleasantly full flavor for a pale ale that reminds me a little of Samuel Smith products. Malty, bready flavor with a little cheesiness and bittering hops. River Hourse seems to prefer malty, bready, lightly hopped brews. rustbucket0873 (146), Krikville, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 5, 2008 Pours a cloudy unfiltered looking amber color. a fluffy head, with sent of strong hops, vanilla, and citrus. The taste is not over welling with hops, but sweet like candy with a grassy taste at the end. overall this need to be changed a bit Radek Kliber (3986), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada

Appearance: murky amber ale with rocky porous head. 2- Nose: Rich sweet candy malts, alcohol with citric hops, grape and vanilla cream. 5+ Flavor/Palate : Medium bodied with raw hop character fruity sweetness below. It does not carry far, collapsed apart as tasted. Not bad but did not worked for me, needs tweaking a bit.

This one tastes suspiciously like the River Horse ESB I had several ratings ago. That is to say, it’s got the same thick, chewy, bready malt profile that tends to wash out or overpower other characteristics. Certainly, this light and amber colored brew is - as advertised - more hop forward, and it’s clean and easy drinking to be sure. But while there’s no major knock on it, it’s also quite non-descript. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 6, 2008 This Pale Ale poured very smooth, with a light copper color and a smooth marshmellowey head. Suprisingly there wasnt much of a scent to this beer. The palate was smooth and almost velvety as it rolls over your tounge. The taste was just right. With most Pale Ale its either too much of too little hops, this beer definitly has the perfect blend. Narnad (721), Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 22, 2008 This beer poured a nice copper color with a very feint white thin head that really disappears fast and leaves no lacing. Aroma is very grassy mixed with a bit of vanilla and caramel malt. Flavor is really good. Starts off very grassy bitter but quickly moves into a nutty taste and then ends with a slightly roasted but very malty sweet flavor on the tip of tongue, very similar to a Laffy Taffy sweetness minus any fruit flavor. Very good beer and is much better than the other beer (River Horse Lager). Would definitely recommend if you found it at your local shop.
