Aroma of caramel malt, floral hops, and a touch of citrus. Flavor is largely malty with some bitter hops in the finish. Pretty decent IIPA, although a little lacking in the citrus department.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 9, 2009 Pours a dark copper, rather thin head, minimal lace. Nose is of other significant IPA/IIPA’s. Big on citrus, slight malt, etc. Taste is well balanced, slightly more malt than a more serious IIPA, but balances out the hops wonderfully. An absolute joy to drink, extremely effective assault on the palate, as an IIPA should be, but not as offensive as some of the others I have tried. Glad I tried this, definitely a good brew. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 3, 2009 Pours a transparent dark copper amber with a thin, spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of juicy orange and grapefruity hops with some toasty caramel malty notes. Starts with good fullness and toasty caramel sweetness with a good earthy bitter grapefruity hop balance before a drier, crisp bittersweet finish. Pretty well balanced and enjoyable. scraff (1942), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 25, 2009 12 oz - The Wine Source. Dark coppery amber, creamy off white head. Soft earthy pine and tangerine zest aromas ride a light undercurrent of toasted caramel malt. A moderate piney-earth bitterness rounds with a sweet peachy-caramel backbone. Full bodied, soft carboantion, bittersweet finish. Very much in line with an East Coast style I-IPA. Not a bad first attempt for these guys... hopdog (5581), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 18, 2009 12oz bottle. Poured a medium and hazy amberish color with a larger sized off white head. Some lacing left on the glass. Aromas of citrus, some floralness, and caramel. Tastes of caramel, citrus, pine, and some toastiness. Light alcohol in the finish. pineypower (1095), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 16, 2009 Bottle. Pours out a hazy orange tinged copper color. Aroma of citrus hops, sweet malt. Taste is hoppy mostly citrus and slight grass, caramel, sweet syrupy fruit notes, dry and slightly alcoholic on the finish, but the sweetness lingers throughout and cuts into the hops. This would be a good IIPA for a malt head to get introduced to the style. TomDecapolis (3173), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 16, 2009 Pours a hazy deep amber with golden notes and a bubbly off white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, american ale yeast, kind of smells like a 120 Minute IPA, tropical fruits and sweet citrusy notes. Flavor of the same malty sweet caramel malt, some light pine and grapefruit, hop bitterness is there but is fighting the malt sweetness too much. Some toasted malt and if they made hop hard candy caramels they would taste like this. An ok double ipa, that could benefit from a heavy dose of dry hopping and less sweetness.
