| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 3, 2009 Pours a transparent dark copper amber with a thin, spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of juicy orange and grapefruity hops with some toasty caramel malty notes. Starts with good fullness and toasty caramel sweetness with a good earthy bitter grapefruity hop balance before a drier, crisp bittersweet finish. Pretty well balanced and enjoyable. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 1, 2009 Tap at Blind Tiger. Deep amber pour. Thick white head. The nose is an odd resiny honeyed sweetness. Sort of muddy and indistinctly hoppy. A fairly sweet maltiness with a bit of light bitterness. It tastes like a lot of other crappy IIPAs… honey-sweet and muddle hops do not a great beer make. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 3, 2009 Bottle from a New Jerseyan coworker. Pours hazy dark straw with off-white head. Nose is malty, heavily resiny hoppy, with some citrus, peppery, and fruity notes. Tastes very hoppy, with a solid malt bill, and some peppery, tangerine, and a twinge of an off plastic flavor in the first bottle which did not reappear in the other 3 of the 4-pack. I agree with the prior rater who stated that the flavors just don’t seem to gel together quite as well as they should, but that is a relatively minor beef. Rciesla (3770), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 27, 2009 Bottle. Pours an orange copper body with a white head. Pine, citrus, hints of grapefruit and grass. Sweet malty character comes across almost fruity. Mild etoh warming. A significant improvement for RH. egajdzis (3631), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 5, 2008 Draft at TDR SH... Poured an amber color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, citrus fruits, toffee malts, caramel, toast, grass, and floral hops. Taste of caramel malts, toffee, toast, citrus fruits, pine, and sharp grapefruit, with bitter hops, and some alcohol in the finish. Dickinsonbeer (3497), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 8, 2009 On tap at Clover Leaf Tavern. Pours a hazy muted copper with a nice thin head with some good lace. Aroma is a bit grassy, and earthy with some subdues lackluster citrus hops but gets toned down from a bit of dirt and yeast- some lacking crystal malts as well. A bit doughy and yeasty flavor, some medium toast and crystal malts, and a sharp crisp earhty gerassy almost astringent hop flavor and bitterness. Ok, and easy to drink, but needs more refining and way more hops.
