The aroma is mild with notes of coffee and cocoa. The flavor varies from bitter coffee to a rich creamy cocoa as it warms. Also, as it warms the alcohol makes an appearance, in a good way. This beer is rich, has a full body, and a warm lingering finish. Really good. jpweisel (1), New Jersey, USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 10, 2009 Pours dark brown. tan/light brown head with lasting thin cover.
Chocolate and coffee aromas.
Chocolatey and nice mouth feel. Not too sweet like some milk stouts. Nice full creamy body.
Very drinkable w/ a slight hop bite. I am excited that Riverhorse is expanding their line of beer w/ a variety of special releases. I will enjoy this beer again.
