| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 9, 2008 12oz bottle served in an English pint glass. Pours very dark brown, nearly black, topped by a receding khaki head. Lots of oatmeal on the nose, some roasted grains, and dark chocolate. Taste is bitter chocolate, coffee, cereal, and a touch of smoke. As it warmed I picked up a hint of licorice. For a beer this size the mouthfeel is quite amazing, big, thick and coating. I have had a few River Horse beers before that I was not too thrilled about but this one is definitely a winner. sinkr (219), Lusby, Maryland, USA

Very good. jpweisel (1), New Jersey, USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 10, 2009 Pours dark brown. tan/light brown head with lasting thin cover.
Chocolate and coffee aromas.
Chocolatey and nice mouth feel. Not too sweet like some milk stouts. Nice full creamy body.
Very drinkable w/ a slight hop bite. I am excited that Riverhorse is expanding their line of beer w/ a variety of special releases. I will enjoy this beer again.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 26, 2009 Black, thick tan creamy head. Rich vanilla mocha cream aromas ride undercurrents of roasted black chocolate coffee. Deep roasted coffee and toasted cream flavors balance well on soft swirl of charred dark chocolate. Medium bodied and smooth, soft carbonation, bittersweet finish. Great brew and certainly one of River Horse’s best to date... zathrus13 (1300), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA
