Pours a five+ finger tan head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Opaque dark brown color. Light-medium carbonation and medium-heavy bodied. Molasses nose. Flavor is sweet molasses and coffee. $1.83 for a 12oz bottle from Manchester Wine and Liquors Manchester, CT.

12oz bottle served in an English pint glass. Pours very dark brown, nearly black, topped by a receding khaki head. Lots of oatmeal on the nose, some roasted grains, and dark chocolate. Taste is bitter chocolate, coffee, cereal, and a touch of smoke. As it warmed I picked up a hint of licorice. For a beer this size the mouthfeel is quite amazing, big, thick and coating. I have had a few River Horse beers before that I was not too thrilled about but this one is definitely a winner.

Bottle->English pt.: pours a large, light brow head that exhibits good lacing atop a black body. Aroma of molasses, grain, and coffee. The body is full, texture creamy, with average carbonation, and an astringent finish. The flavor’s duration is long, heavily sweet and lightly acidic and bitter.

12oz Bottle: Pours very dark brown w/ a one finger brown head. Aroma is of roasted malts, chocolate & something sweet (almost like condensed milk or something). Flavor has heavy roasted malts, a hint of chocolate an ashy/smokiness...also a bit of grain Just the right amount of bitter w/ a coffee aftertaste left behind. Very good.

Pours dark brown. tan/light brown head with lasting thin cover. Chocolate and coffee aromas. Chocolatey and nice mouth feel. Not too sweet like some milk stouts. Nice full creamy body. Very drinkable w/ a slight hop bite. I am excited that Riverhorse is expanding their line of beer w/ a variety of special releases. I will enjoy this beer again.

Black, thick tan creamy head. Rich vanilla mocha cream aromas ride undercurrents of roasted black chocolate coffee. Deep roasted coffee and toasted cream flavors balance well on soft swirl of charred dark chocolate. Medium bodied and smooth, soft carbonation, bittersweet finish. Great brew and certainly one of River Horse’s best to date...

With many thanks to Blankboy for sharing. Appearance: Dark brown with a nice brown head. Aroma: Copper, malt, milky, oatmeal, slight coffee and chocolate. Flavour: Nicely lactose-like, chocolate milk, coffee, oatmeal and cream with a nice chocolate malt finish, lovely.
