| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | May 9, 2009 This amber pours with a slight chill haze and features a modest head with a mild lace that slides down the glass side. The aroma is predominantly caramel with a touch of hop. I also detect an unpleasant metallic smell.
The caramel aromas translate into caramel flavors that last into the aftertaste. This has a very light hop for the style. The carbonation is moderate to high and the body is thinner than the coloring would suggest.
Much more malty than most ESB’s, and certainly more watery. I wouldn’t recommend it past a curiousty tasting. lamas (722), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 2, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy rust color with a skim of a light-tan head. Subtle aroma that features some caramel, honey, spiciness, and hints of grain. Thin to medium-bodied. Starts off with some sweet caramel maltiness and is followed by a strangely creamy middle with some honey flavors that took some getting used to. Finishes with a light biscuitiness.
