Commercial Description:
Notice a unique aromatic nose with a hint of vanilla esters, which comes from the Belgian ale yeast. Tripel Horse has a big body and rich mouth feel and finishes mostly dry with only a touch of sweetness. If you shy from some of the sweeter Belgian ales, we think you will enjoy this one. The palate improves with age, so keep some on hand and you can ride Tripel Horse down a new path with each opened bottle.

Pretty bland for a tripel. Very sweet and syrupy. Flavor and aroma or of vanilla sweetness. If you like sweet, this is for you. Otherwise try something else.

Clear light color, but full rich almost oaky aroma. Unidentified slightly sweet fruity taste - perhaps fig. Noticeably lacking in hop flavor. Good but could be better.

Bottle. Hazy light amber colour with a nice but little head. Aroma of malt, caramel, fruit and hints of spices. Flavour of fruit, malt and ends up little sweet and with a touch of spices, not but different.

Bottle; poured a hazy auburn-orange, not much white head. Aroma of fruit, caramel, yeast, spice and honey. Very sweet flavor, with some funkiness to it. Flavor consisted of honey, fruit and sugar; no hop presence at all. Something just didn’t work well for me; as a result, below average beer in my opinion.

Light golden with an off white head. Aroma dominated by an apricot-like fruitiness, along with ginger and pepper. Flavor is likewise fruity and pretty sweet, balanced out by some lemony tartness. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. High ABV is not apparent at all.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of Kramer17801. Slightly hazy amber golden with an off-white head. Rather fruity nose. Very full body with sweet - very sweet - fruit notes. Rather unclean and unbalanced with a whiff of butter. Basically no bitterness. 080707

Bottle. [Thanks to Papsoe for sharing!] Average creamy off-white head that mostly diminished. Clear flat body with a golden color. Aroma of caramel, floral, fruity apricot, clove, butterscotch, honey, maple syrup, coriander. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation and a creamy sticky texture. Moderated to almost heavy sweet sugary flavor, only light bitter notes to counter the sweetness. Heavy sugary sweet finish. A bit unbalanced I thought. 08-07-2007
