Clear yellow, light head and lacing, low carbonation for style. Nose of basil and coriander and lemon, light yeasty esters and a bit of sweet malt. The flavor is sweet, low mouthfeel and bright grassy hops. Finishes sweet, low alcohol. Eh, american. Sammy (4062), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Chocolate brown colour. 10% is a lot, and I was getting it from the aroma through the afterhammer. A bit of sweetness, an OK chewy yeast. Spice, but nothing too complex. Fizzy carbonation. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 9, 2006 Tried this at a beer festival in Adamstown, PA even though it is a local brew for me. Pours an orange/golden hue. Taste is peculiar: a combination of sweet and bitter simultaneously. The alcohol content will get you by the boo-boo if you have enough. hophead75 (1964), Boonton, New Jersey, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 7, 2006 12oz bottle poured a clear golden orange color with a fluffy toast-tan head. Some signifigant carbonation bubles. Aroma is a yeasty-pilsneresque one with notes of vanilla, citrus, and spices and some minimal urine and dry grass. Agree with "If you shy from some of the sweeter Belgian ales, we think you will enjoy this one" in thier description, or at least the inferece that its not a sweet belgian. Floral, citus-tart, wheat grass dominate the flavor. Although there are undertones of vanilla, yeast. A little more apple comes out as it warms. WISEGUY572 (1249), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 30, 2006 I really did not enjoy this. Strange nose and strange taste ... too strongly floral, too strongly vanilla. Yeah, some citrus and spice show up if you look for them, but that does not make it a Belgian. Too thin in the mouth ... despite all the alcohol, it reminded me more of a San Miguel or some light floral lager than a tripel. Almost clear amber, little to no head, light lacing. Nasty finish to boot. Maybe if this had been called a high alcohol lager or something I would have been happier with it. Surely not an Abbey Tripel. Not even an interesting beer. It may be on the other side of the river, but it’s still Pa. With that said, this is a great PA brew. Even with the confusion of where the brewery thinks it located, they managed a solid effort. Great job from another fine Pa brewery! realale420 (399), west covina, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 19, 2006 12oz bottle poured a clear golden color with a small white head. Aroma of sweet candy sugar and typical Belgian yeast. Taste is a bit hot with a huge amount of alcohol warmth. A clean tasting beer just not my style.
