Commercial Description:
Notice a unique aromatic nose with a hint of vanilla esters, which comes from the Belgian ale yeast. Tripel Horse has a big body and rich mouth feel and finishes mostly dry with only a touch of sweetness. If you shy from some of the sweeter Belgian ales, we think you will enjoy this one. The palate improves with age, so keep some on hand and you can ride Tripel Horse down a new path with each opened bottle.

12 oz bottle, via thaichile. Pours a slightly hazy dark gold colored body with a one finger fizzy white head that left nice intricate lacing. Aroma is sweet and fruity with a good dose of alcohol. A nice spicy yeast component as well. Notes of apple and pear. Flavor is rather sweet and sticky with notes of fruit, yeast, and some risidual sugar on the finish. The alcohol is very prevelant as well. Mouthfeel is thick and full bodied with fizzy active carbonation. Slightly sticky and cloying towards the finish. A little too cloying till the end of the bottle in fact. Overall, this seemed to focus on the alcohol and "bigness" rather than achieving the complexity of a good triple. It was drinkable as triples go, but not a favorite of mine in the style.

A lightly hazed golden ale with a very thin lacing white head. Aroma is quite pleasant with initial fruity esters of pears, followed by some notes of coriander and thyme, and barnyard, herbal qualities. In mouth, a caramel malt, with belgian style hopping, with coriader and orange, with alcohol hidden. Medium bodied doesnt carry the whole thing very well. Cloying in the end. A venerable effort. Bottle, Brickskeller. Strange nose, with some artificial leemon juice scents and a basil note. Turns into more of a lemon and coriander character fairly quick. Texture is very slick, soapy and sickly, oily even. A terrible tripel style-wise, and overall just based on flavor it’s still a pretty poor beer. Appears to be filtered and not bottle conditioned.

##400 Apricots, sweet honey apricots. Nice alcohol bite. Beautiful color gorgeous lace, nice taste. A great drink for a great night with a great movie and great company. I wish it came in a bigger bottle and a longer night.

Pours an orange/amber hazy color...sweet fruity and hoppy aroma. Thin, fuzzy head faded quickly. Lighly syrupy mouthfeel, flavors of wheat hops, raisin, citrus...slight trace of alcohol to the finish. Not bad at all.

(Bottle) Pours a clear amber body with a moderate creamy slightly off-white head. Aroma of ginger, perfume, and florals. Flavor is malty with honey, pear, banana, and herbs. Not sure where the yeast is...

Bottle. Suprised by the low ratings on this one. Great tripel imho. Caramel, vanilla, fruit, and oak flavors w/ a mild alcohol bite. Really good and rich.

Pours a cloudy orange brown with suspended particles. Thin white head disappears quickly. Nose has a tart almost sour character to it. This could be a bad bottle based on other descriptions. Very little going on. Slight sweetness, tangerine, yeasty? Alchol well masked. Not what I was expecting from a 10% tripel.
